GoDaddy Inc. has added several new enhancements to its Online Store platform, including the ability for GoDaddy sellers to accept Apple Pay, enabling the merchants on its e-commerce platform to capture increased mobile sales.

The updates to Online Store mark an acceleration in GoDaddy’s commitment to building mobile-friendly tools. As of July 2016, 60 percent of traffic on GoDaddy websites and online stores comes from mobile devices. Since first rolling Apple Pay out to customers in late October 2016, GoDaddy merchants have experienced almost a 78% increase in online checkout conversion rates.
GoDaddy is providing Apple Pay to all Online Store merchants who enable credit card payments through Stripe. There is no additional fee to take advantage of Apple Pay acceptance.
“More and more online commerce in the U.S. now happens on mobile devices, and Apple Pay is a rapidly growing portion of those purchases,” said Cristina Cordova, Head of Business Development at Stripe. “We’ve already seen other major platforms significantly increase their conversion rates by enabling Apple Pay, and we’re excited to extend this to GoDaddy users around the world.”
In addition to Apple Pay, GoDaddy is introducing several other new features which are aimed at driving e-commerce success in a mobile world, including:
- Smart mobile checkout: redesigned checkout flow to minimize all friction points for customers to complete purchases. Dramatic reduction in typing and tapping to checkout.
- Abandoned shopping cart recovery: automatically send emails to shoppers with an easy link to return where they left off in the purchase flow.
- Commerce ready email marketing: upgraded email marketing integration enables rich mobile experiences for your prospects or customers.
“Mobile shopping is driving e-commerce activity. Simplifying the consumer purchase experience with things like Apple Pay is a big advantage for small businesses,” said Greg Goldfarb, VP of Commerce and Email Marketing at GoDaddy. “We’ve removed friction for buyers so they can just tap to pay and provided businesses with easier ways to reach customers with compelling content.”
The features listed above are available on GoDaddy Online Store beginning today and included in the 30 day free trial program. To learn more about Online Store, please visit: https://www.godaddy.com/websites/online-store .
